Ever wondered how to add realistic linen texture to your patterns?

Hello Reader,

I hope you're week is going well and your creative juices are flowing.

Today's newsletter brings something special for all you pattern design rockstars! I'm finally unveiling a highly requested tutorial...

Adding texture to your artwork can significantly enhance its visual appeal. One such texture that's gaining popularity among surface pattern designers is the linen texture. It adds a layer of depth and realism to patterns, making them stand out. If you're keen to incorporate this aesthetic into your projects, let me show you how.

Check out my blog post and watch my YouTube tutorial where I will walk you through the process of creating a linen texture in Photoshop, from drawing your initial line to applying the texture to your patterns.

By following these steps, you can create and apply a beautiful linen texture to your digital designs in Photoshop. You can even export the texture out as a PNG and apply it to patterns in Procreate simply by applying some Blending Modes.

This technique not only enhances the visual depth of your work but also gives it a unique, tactile quality.

If you do give this a go, please tag me on Instagram (@melarmstrongdesign) or Cara (@MelArmstrong) so I can see and enjoy your wonderful creations.

Happy Pattern Making!

Mel
